Privacy policy

Skyswipe is an iPhone app for Bluesky. It talks directly to Bluesky and Stream.place; there's no Skyswipe account, and the only thing Skyswipe's own server receives is feedback you choose to send. This policy explains what stays on your iPhone, what goes to those services, and the choices you have.
What stays on your iPhone
- Sign-in tokens for your Bluesky accounts, kept in the iOS Keychain. You sign in on Bluesky's own page; Skyswipe never sees your password.
- The list of accounts you've added (handle, name and picture) and your settings, such as which feeds you watch and what's in your Mix.
- If you go live, your stream key, kept in the Keychain.
What goes to Bluesky
Like any Bluesky app, Skyswipe loads feeds, profiles and posts from Bluesky's servers, and saves what you do (posts, likes, reposts, follows, replies) to your Bluesky account. Most of this is public on Bluesky by design. Photos and videos you post are uploaded to Bluesky; videos are processed by Bluesky's video service. Bluesky's privacy policy covers that data.
What goes to Stream.place
When you open Live, Skyswipe loads the list of streams, the video and the chat from Stream.place. When you go live, the video and sound from your camera and microphone are sent to Stream.place and shown publicly, and Skyswipe saves a stream record (and, if you choose, a post) to your Bluesky account. Chat messages you send are public Bluesky records. Stream.place's own policies cover that data.
Feedback you send
If you use Settings › Send feedback, your message goes to Skyswipe's feedback service (run on Cloudflare) and is read by the developer, who may turn it into a task in a private issue tracker. If you leave "Include app details" on, it also carries the app version, iOS version, iPhone model and whether you were signed in. It never includes your Bluesky account, handle or anything you watched. A random number made when you install Skyswipe goes with each message, only to limit how many one phone can send a day. Nothing is sent unless you tap Send.
Camera, microphone and photos
Skyswipe uses the camera and microphone only while you're taking a photo or video or going live. If you allow photo access (to all your photos or only some), Skyswipe shows them in its picker on your phone; only the photos or video you pick are uploaded, when you tap Share. Nothing is uploaded until you tap Share or Go live.
What Skyswipe doesn't do
- No advertising, analytics, crash-reporting or tracking tools, and no data brokers
- No selling or sharing of your data
- No recommendation server of our own: feeds come from Bluesky and the feed creators you choose
Your choices
- Sign out of an account to remove its sign-in and stream key from your iPhone. Deleting Skyswipe removes its settings, but iOS keeps Keychain items after an app is deleted, so sign out first to remove those too.
- Delete posts from any Bluesky app, such as bsky.app. Manage or delete your Bluesky account in Bluesky's settings.
- Skyswipe follows your Bluesky moderation settings, including muted words, blocks and adult-content preferences.
Children
Skyswipe isn't directed at children under 13, and Bluesky accounts require users to be old enough under Bluesky's terms.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the date above will change too. Questions: email plinthsdev@gmail.com, or send them from the app under Settings › Send feedback.
